Rooted in our Catholic tradition and a commitment to all, Marymount empowers students to learn with purpose. Founded in 1950 by the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary to educate women worldwide, we began with just 13 students, offering practical training for careers and the opportunity for financial independence, a time when higher education was primarily reserved for men.
Today, Marymount is a nationally ranked, co-educational university with more than 4,400 students from 66 countries, offering bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees across 150 academic programs.
“"I will always appreciate my time at Marymount for giving me so many amazing opportunities, allowing me to meet wonderful people and showing me how capable I really am!”
